Equity Loan

An equity loan is a mortgage loan in which the borrower receives money. Typically the loan is secured by real estate already owned through it.

Examples of equity loans in Kenya

  • Savings and Loan (S&L) is a wholly owned subsidiary of KCB and is the oldest mortgage finance company in Kenya. They have a range of investment and mortgage products that suits all Kenyans even those abroad.
  • Barclays bank mortgages. Here the beneficiary of the mortgage finances up to 90% of the cost of the home they choose to buy, but Barclays bank guides them carefully through the whole process. It has very competitive interest rates and it’s easy to work out and start owning a house.
  • Housing Finance is the leading mortgage finance institution in Kenya. For over forty years, Housing Finance has been “turning dreams into homes” for thousands of Kenyan families and housing developers. Mainly by providing easy access to mortgage finance and by enabling clients to save money as they build, buy and own their homes.
